What you might notice
- Main line clogs that keep coming back
- A sunken or soggy area in the yard over the sewer line
- Sewer smell outside or under the house
- A home inspector noted a possible sewer problem
- The house is older and the sewer line has never been inspected
Likely causes
- Cracked or broken clay pipe
- Cast iron that has rusted, scaled or cracked over time
- Joints that have shifted apart (offsets) and let roots in
- A sagging section ("belly") where waste and water collect
- Ground movement or heavy loads over the pipe
Safe things to try first
- There is no safe do-it-yourself repair for a broken sewer pipe.
- Limit water use if drains are slow, and avoid flushing wipes or grease.
- Keep notes on when clogs happen. That history helps us plan.
- If you are buying a home, ask for a sewer camera inspection before your contingency period ends.
If water starts rising or you see sewage, stop and call. Don’t take apart anything you’re not comfortable putting back together.
When to call a pro
- You have had more than one main line clog in a year
- You see a soggy or sunken spot in the yard
- You are buying or selling a home
- A previous plumber told you the line is damaged and you want a second opinion
What Rooter Champion does

Most common problems we find in La Habra, Fullerton, La Mirada and Whittier: tree roots in the sewer line, old or failing cast iron pipe, and broken sewer pipes. Many homes here still have their original lines, so a camera inspection is the quickest way to know which one you have.
We start with a sewer camera inspection and show you the video, so you can see the cracks, offsets or roots for yourself. If the line needs repair, we explain the options. Trenchless pipe lining places a new liner inside the old pipe and seals the cracks and joints without digging a trench across your yard. Not every pipe is a good fit for lining; badly collapsed sections may need pipe bursting or a different repair instead. We will tell you what the camera shows and what makes sense for your line.
Lining is often the long-term answer to tree roots that keep coming back and repeat main line clogs. Local to us? See sewer service in La Mirada.
Our $55 drain cleaning includes a free camera inspection, so you can see the problem for yourself. Rooter Champion is family-owned, licensed and insured (CA Lic. #1063585).
Common questions
What is trenchless pipe lining?
A flexible liner coated with resin is put inside the existing pipe and cured in place, creating a new pipe inside the old one. It is done through access points, so you avoid digging up the whole yard.
Should I get a sewer inspection before buying a home?
It is a good idea, especially for older homes or homes with big trees. A standard home inspection usually does not include a camera look inside the sewer line.
Can I get a second opinion on a sewer repair quote?
Yes. We can run our own camera inspection and show you the footage so you can compare with what you were told.
What customers say
5.0 stars from 52 Google reviews on our La Habra profile.
“I was in a plumbing crisis with flooding from a sewer line. Another plumber’s quote would’ve required a second mortgage. I got a second opinion with Rooter Champion — David was excellent, professional, and gave me an honest assessment at a fair price. Look no further!”
“The young man who showed up was excellent. He explained and showed me via video scope exactly what the issue was and got it back to functional. Great service!”
